Congratulations on the big success of This Is It DVD. You may know already but the sales in Japan on the first day has broken the record, and I see the poster all over Tokyo!! Never seen this much excitement over a release of a DVD. I of course bought the DVD set myself, and went to the theatre over 20 times!! Love the movie and thank you so much for giving us the chance to see Michael’s amazing performance and to see Michael as who he really was. God bless you Kenny.

    Mr. Ortega,

I wanted to tell you what This Is It did for me when I watched it in the theatres last November. I was, as we all were, deeply saddened by Michael’s death, he was a huge part of my life growing up and always held a very special place in my heart. I do not know that I would have made it through certain parts of my life without the sound of his voice, and his dance, that thing that came through him, that he harnessed and used to touch and shape so many of us.

What your film did is make me feel that he is very much still here and always will be. I am not a-dress-up-like-Michael-and-scream-til-I-pass-out MJ fan, though I know well the feelings that inspire that kind of adoration and expression. I just had a deep connection to Michael Jackson’s creative spirit that has been with me and will stay with me my whole life.

You, through your portrait of Michael in This Is It, made me feel so much love and happiness for Michael’s life and spirit. I feared I would sob through the whole film, but I found myself smiling and full of joy. You gave such a gift to me, the realization that the loss of Michael is nothing compared to the life of Michael because while he was here, he imprinted our souls with something infinite. He opened us to the possibility of everything. That is what you captured in your film.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you the same peace and joy your film has given. “This Is It” is a finite expression on the surface but celebrates the eternal at its core. Michael is still here in so many ways, I can feel him through the stars and trees and his music is forever. Thank you thank you.

Thank you for sharing this video with the world. It is priceless. The world was given an opportunity to see Michael Jackson, the man. He always gave 200% and was so genuine and passionate about every thing he did. This world lost so much 7 months ago. The memories of Michael Jackson will live on in the hearts of those of us who loved him forever. His presence is so painfully missed. God bless you Kenny for sharing his final curtain call with us.
    With Love, L.O.V.E., love.

This past weekend I rented “This is It” and found it to be quite compelling. I have always regarded Michael Jackson as the most riveting performer of our time and have yet seen anything as ground breaking as the music videos that Michael has done. It saddens me to see that no one has been able to take over where he left off in terms of incorporating dance in music videos.
I’ve waited with anticipation to see what Michael would have done with his song “Can’t Let Her Get Away” and am sorry to see that that time may never come. I guess with the advent of CGI it may be possible to keep putting out Michael Jackson videos, but that would be a bit creepy.
I’ve done my own interpretation of “Can’t Let Her Get Away” and if you get the chance, I would like for you to see it.
