Salsa
Kenny Ortega played many roles in the 1988 film Salsa, as choreographer, assistant producer, second unit director, and even as a singer in the film for the song “Good Lovin’.”
Salsa, directed by Boaz Davidson, is a story about Rico (played by Robby Rosa), who wants to escape his day job as a mechanic to pursue his passion for Salsa dancing. Dreaming of making himself and his girlfriend Vicki (played by Angela Alvarado) the “King and Queen of Salsa”, Rico sets his sights on winning La Luna’s Grand Salsa Competition. But when Luna (played by Miranda Garrison), the exotic club owner, pursues making Rico her dance partner, Rico must decide what drives him: his ambition or his heart?
