Darren Romeo
Darren Romeo is a professional magician and off-Broadway actor, and the "protégé" of Siegfried & Roy.
Darren, his leading lady Kristy Michelsen and their dancers perform a style of magic that combines vocal performance and illusion, in what is billed as "The Voice of Magic." In 1995, he starred in the Off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, before relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada. Once there, he became a regular performer at Caesars Palace. In 1999, he met Siegfried & Roy, who took him on as their sole protégée. With their backing, he was given his own nightly show at The Mirage, for which he received the International Magician Society’s coveted Merlin Award, an honor shared with past winners such as Siegfried & Roy, David Copperfield, and Doug Henning.
For his shows that are performed in venues all over the U.S. such as Las Vegas, Nevada; Bronson, Missouri; and Biloxi, Mississippi, Romeo weds magic with music and creates a theatrical show that connects strongly with audiences and strikes an emotional chord. Kenny Ortega was brought in as a choreographer to help spruce up his show.
