Lake of Dreams
Wynn Las Vegas is constructed so that visitors must enter the building to view the free attractions. The main attraction is a large, curtain waterfall behind a mountain that faces the strip. The waterfall falls into a three-acre lake. When the show is inactive, the waterfall creates an animated color sequence on the screen. Kenny Ortega worked with Steve & Elaine Wynn as the Artistic Director for a show called "The Lake of Dreams". Every half hour, kinetic video imagery blends with exotic visages projected on huge circular screens, creating a visual feast for diners at SW Steakhouse or Daniel Boulud Brasserie. Other times a giant frog emerges from his home behind the waterfall that feeds the lake in order to regale Parasol Up/Parasol Down patrons with renditions of “What a Wonderful World” or “Low Rider.” Flowers may float above the mountain, undulating to classical music composed by Paganini.
