In the Heights
Kenny Ortega will be directing the Universal Pictures big-screen adaptation of the Tony-award winning Broadway musical “In the Heights”. The musical takes place in Manhattan’s Washington Heights community, where a bodega owner inherits his grandmother’s money and must come to terms with his decision to retire to the Dominican Republic beach. The story reveals life’s lessons on embracing change and the importance of family. Meryl Poster will produce. Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller and Jill Furman Willis, all producers of the stage musical, will be exec producers.
